The Journey

Where will you begin?
Following Mia Boostrom through her greatest achievements.

“If I can make it there, I can make it anywhere. It’s up to you,”
“New York, New York.” - Frank Sinatra

6 am. My alarm clock rang, and I awoke. My eyes were sunken and tired. My voice was was ragged and hoarse. I was sick with the flu and that day, I had biggest audition of my life. Instead of worrying about how I was going sing from my congested vocal chords I tip-toed to the shower. Thoughts were running through my mind and I ran through my audition song a few more times. I pictured the audition in my head over and over again. Even though I have never been through an experience like this, I prepared myself as much as possible. I thought about questions they would ask, I and thought about how I would stand out against other girls my age. I thought I was as prepared as I ever could be and continued to get ready.
7:00am.
“MIA, LET’S GO”, My dad was yelling from downstairs as he grabbed my “Quick Sick Fix” Bag, which included:
-2 boxes of Kleenex
-1 bag of Ricola
-5 bottles of water
-and some hand sanitizer.
And he headed out to the car. I took a final glance at the mirror. Took a deep breath, and said, “The Time has come, the Walrus Said”. (My slogan before every show) I then grabbed my guitar threw the case over my back, walked out the door and locked the door behind me.
We hit the road right at 7:05. And traveled west to New York City. I was on my way. I was ready to rock it.
